Indigenous Cultural Awareness and Sensitivity Training

Indigenous created, Indigenous led

Our Indigenous-led training programs are developed and delivered by experienced Indigenous facilitators who are deeply rooted in the field of Indigenous Education. These sessions are specifically designed to support non-Indigenous individuals, businesses, religious groups, and organizations that are seeking to build respectful relationships with Indigenous peoples. Through a range of thoughtfully crafted learning opportunities, we help participants foster culturally safe environments and engage more meaningfully with Indigenous communities.

Our approach is grounded in a ‘Dual-lensed’ perspective, which invites participants to understand both the Western (European) worldview and the Indigenous worldview. This intentional blending of perspectives creates an ethical space—a respectful and reflective learning environment—where non-Indigenous learners can explore complex topics, challenge assumptions, and develop a deeper, more nuanced understanding of Indigenous histories, cultures, and contemporary realities. Our goal is to support lasting learning and inspire positive action toward reconciliation.

A modern approach

For too long, approaches to Indigenous awareness have remained conventional and static, often overlooking the depth and richness of Indigenous ways of knowing. At ICAST, we offer a transformative and culturally grounded alternative—training that is informed, sensitive, and authentically developed by Indigenous peoples.

Our approach honors the intellectual knowledge passed down through generations—wisdom rooted in land, language, story, and lived experience. These generational teachings form the foundation of our programs, which are thoughtfully integrated with contemporary educational strategies to ensure relevance and accessibility for today’s learners.

Designed especially for non-Indigenous individuals, businesses, and organizations, our training bridges traditional Indigenous knowledge with modern pedagogy to create a comprehensive, respectful, and engaging framework. This approach not only deepens understanding but also fosters the kind of critical reflection and ethical awareness necessary for building meaningful relationships and advancing reconciliation.
